What will the upcoming Genesis GV60 EV look like?

Genesis created a buzz in the electric market segment when it released its upcoming all-electric compact luxury crossover SUV on the 19th of August 2021. The vehicle instantly caught the market, with distinct similarity with Genesis’s design DNA while also introducing a more modern outtake and futuristic outtake. The GV60 will be slotted below the internal combustion engine-powered GV70. It will be the first Genesis product to be developed on the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). What will the upcoming Genesis GV60 EV look like? In this article, we are going to look into this in a lot more detail.

The GV60 EV, which was codenamed JW during development, made a lot of people curious even before it was officially revealed to the market, and for all the right reasons. The GV60 is based on the platform that it shares with its sister-company siblings like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.

Genesis GV60 EV’s Exterior Design Cues

The GV60 has an athletic design with a lot of emphases given to moving lines to make it look livelier. The progressive Two-Line Quad Lamps and a wide-looking Crest grille that is placed below the Quad lamps give it a dynamic appearance while also increasing the cooling efficiency of the high-voltage batteries in the underbody of the vehicle. The GV60’s wing emblem is applied to the grille, with the thickness reduced by nearly 80 percent from the previous models. The famous Guilloche pattern has been imprinted onto the emblem. A chrome line flowing from the windshield to the top of the Daytime Opening (DLO) window extends to a C pillar-garnish design that embodies the electric image.

Interior Design of the Genesis GV60 EV

To keep up with the futuristic image, Genesis has gone for a spacious design language with a ‘Beauty of White Space’ design ethos. Emphasis has been given to a floating architecture design along with unique and sleek details to give a more distinctive look. The Crystal Sphere, which is essentially the sphere-shaped Shift By Wire (SBW) system, adorns the cabin and is the standout feature when looking from afar. This sphere is located on a floating center console that offers an optical illusion of hovering in the air.

More details will soon unfold as the GV60 EV gets closer to completion.
